staging for patients with breast cancer.

patients who are candidates for MRI screening
for breast cancer.

new imaging technologies for patients with
newly diagnosed breast cancer.

appropriate candidates for sentinel node
biopsy.

patients who are candidates for neo adjuvant

| Purpose
Statement: |
| The
purpose of this activity is to enhance physicians'
competence in the ACGME/ABMS competency areas.
This activity includes an update on the recent
advances made in the clinical and surgical management
of the most common problems seen in the practice
general surgery. |
| Target
Audience: |
| This
course is designed for the practicing general
surgeon, other surgeons, and those interested
in general surgery. |
| Educational
Format: |
| The
format for this course consists of 45-minute
lectures, each followed by a 15-minute question
and answer period in which participants will
also be encouraged to discuss with faculty potential
barriers to implementation of new practice strategies.
There will be a panel discussion of a case each
day. The sessions are designed to facilitate
exchange of information and dialogue between
presenting faculty and participants. |
